Clicking a WriteFreely link goes to Mastodon profile instead of actual webpage

I have found that when using the official Mastodon App for Android, if I click on a link to my write.as blog (WriteFreely platform), it will go to the federated profile page for that blog, rather than the website itself.

I am sure this is by design, but the issue is that Mastodon does not load the posts from WriteFreely properly yet. This means that anyone clicking my link will go to an empty Mastodon profile page and assume that there is nothing posted yet.
It would be far better for the link to go directly to the website than to an empty Mastodon profile.

This does not happen on the Mastodon website via browser, which does open the write.as website itself.

Thank you for clarifying that the issue is on the Mastodon end itself. Would it be worth considering a feature where clicking on said link opens a dialog with 2 options?

• "Open as Mastodon Profile"
• "Open Web Page"

As the way this currently works is actually creating a larger disconnect with another Fediverse platform (WriteFreely in this case), than if it was just treated it as a regular weblink.
